![]() ![]() But I have not played AOW3, because I'm a cheapwad. So I guess one could consider it also in my thread.Īge of Wonders 3 seems, note I said seems, like it is in the gameplay style of AOW 2, but that it has the look of Fallen Enchantress. Although it may have dropped to under $20 during a sale. My own thread is not about comparing FELH to AOW3, as you no doubt noted. ![]() I was just agreeing that it was my first impression. ![]() ![]() From what I have read about Age of Wonder 3, not 2, and watching a video of its gameplay, I agree with Blacksmoke and Cleril's assessment. Disciples 3 is apparently terrible, and the "fixed" re-release version just makes it playable, not good.Originally posted by DedZedNub:biggn82, I am aware of that. Older games: If you haven't played the earlier Age of Wonders games and just want to try a good Fantasy TBS 4X game, the earlier Age of Wonders games are pretty great, and cheap on GOG. It's also just over half price on Nuuvem, which is where I bought it. Stockpile gold before triggering one thing, get meta-teleportation cast to transport your big troubleshooter hero and shut down the enemies that spawn when you trigger another thing. They're one unit per tile, the enemy AI is far less of a threat than the random monster spawns (if you act like you're playing Civ, they will murder your entire nation), you can only have five "real" cities (you can increase the number, but not by that much, and your other cities have to be converted to very basic one-purpose towns), and Exiled mode is a wee bit scripted - events occur and after a couple of games you can prepare. I really like Warlock 2, but then I liked the first game, and it's basically more of the same but better, with an Exiled mode where you expand across multiple small maps to beat a final boss. ![]()
